ECU compatibility bewteen 1994 and 1995 900 1995

The ECU on my 1994 945 Turbo is made in Germany and has the number
0 280 000967

The ECU on my daughter's 1995 944 Turbo is made in Spain and has the number
0 280 000954

Can I swap them out to check for the problem on the 1995?

Dear Philip,

May this find you well. According to the Volvo pocket data booklet - Cars, 700, 900, S90, V90, 850, S70, V70, C70 (1991-1998), the ECU 0 280 000 954 (Volvo Part Number 68 42 448) was used on a B230FT4, in 1994-95. I do not know the meaning of the suffixed "4".

I can find no mention of an ECU 0 280 000 967.

ECUs 0 280 000 977 and - 977 were used in the 1996 models.

I regret that I have no other data.

Thanks for the info spook. I called the parts department at the Dealer. According to the dealer, they are two different animals.

Maybe the difference is this: The 954 on the 1995 944T has a EGR. While the 967 on the 1994 945T does not.
