alright... i took the motor out and tried with no success to fix the self parking mech...I dont know how ,or if you can, go to all of the previous posts,i tried bucause there are a lot of posts about windshield wipers. I know on a couple of them they had another motor out of a later volvo that would fit. ???

What kind of modifications (if any) are needed to fit the 245 motor? Is it multi speed?

No modifications, and no, it's just the same: one speed.
The parking mechanism is quite a bit improved, though.

I would guess that there is only one speed on the motor.

I'm not sure when the style changed, but later ones are different

And I could be wrong, but I don't think the parking mechanism is in the motor. So putting a new motor on might make them a little peppier but won't fix that particular problem.

The parking mechanism is just a cam on a gear that pushes a switch open and shut.

True, but the motor and gearbox are pretty much a unit.

Ahh - I didn't know you used the gearbox off the 240 tailgate wiper. I thought it was just the motor. Of course, I've been lucky enough so far not to have to look into the procedure yet - my motor revived nicely from it's slow, sparky, stinky condition when I cleaned up all the conductive dust out from between the commutator contacts, and smoothed the contacts up some.

Don't use non-chlorinated brake cleaner for this, and then run the motor on top of the washing machine with the wife looking on, as it catches on fire...
