For the oil pressure you need a VDO pickup, they typically come in 3 bar and 5 bar. You have to watch the thread size. I believe you have SAE, not metric. You can find a brass tee or angle at your local Ace hardware. You have to mount the oil pressure sender sideways; straight out hits the manifold. One wire goes to light, the other to gauge.

For voltage all you have to do is tie into a hot wire. If you have an ammeter you have to run the alternator output through it, I believe. Ammeters are less common, and I doubt they are on the GT gauge cluster. Maybe on the Rally one.

Huh? You mean the superb R-sport gauge cluster with the yellow on black? You car is a natural for that panel. '73-74 have the new-type cluster, right?

The 240 "rally" cluster isn't QUITE a straight swap into a 73/74 140 (I know because I have tried !)

It fits in perfectly, but some of the wiring on the plugs on the back of the cluster is slightly different and has to be swapped around.

Oil pressure gauge in the rally cluster is 10bar, but you can get them from VDO (including ones that have a tag for the oil light, so no "T" piece required.

Also, at least on a RHD car, the standard 140 speedo cable isn't long enough (but I suspect it would be probably be OK on a LHD car, with a bit of cable re-routing perhaps). I used the longer cable off an M41-equipped 244 on my 142 with M40.

I think if it's the kit for the '75 240 with the B20F engine, it is a straight swap. and wouldn't you know, that's the one I'd like to get rid of. And yes, it is the nice yellow numbers on black. I've also collected a few spare bits with which I was going to make an adapter for a later 240 like the '79 that I had. If interested, contact me directly.

Cheers,
Dave F.

If it is the 140 edition it is, and they did make the 140 edition. Lots of part numbers for the various cars, years, 140, 164, 240, 260. I did not want to get too complicated until sure what the guy was referring to.
