Hi everyone. My driver door ajar chime and light only work when another door is open in addition to the driver's. The switch is brand new. I also noticed that the chime comes on when I step on the brake pedal with the door open and car off. Thank you for any help.

Had a similar problem on my 1983 245GL. Called my tech, who told me that the brake pedal = door chime is an indicator that both (only 2 on the 1983) brake lights were out.

He was correct. I have never found the circuit that makes it happen.
