Where did I see pics of a temp gage conversion from capillary to electric? 120-130

Not tinkering the thing is bust. I think it will be cheaper to convert, as who knows the $$$ of a new one. Anyhow I have seen pics of someone using a electrial temp mech from something else that will fit in there and look original. I have access to lots of old and newer volvo stuff, so this is the better route. Then again if the new capillary line is not too much....

I also remember the pictures, but can't find them back, but there is some more info on this subject at: < http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo_492183.html?show_all=1 > and < http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo_81626.html?show_all=1 >

I saw the same post Patrick. I can't find it now, but the guage was out of a 240 (IIRC) and it was a close match. I t would take a Amazon enthusiast to see the difference at a glance.

I have one in my 122 that I did up. It's a mix of the 122 gauge and a 240 gauge. Works great! The needle is a little thicker, and doesn't come to a point like the 122.

My computer crashed awhile ago with all the pictures, so I don't have any pictures. I just rebuilt a speedometer (now I have a working odometer, and a speedometer that will give me a correct speed), and I'm planning on taking some more pictures of it when I switch it our.

so you took a 240 needle + mechanism and installed it in the 120 spot? Also where do you plumb in the temp sensor on a 120/240? smae spot?

Patrick-

I'm running a B21 engine in my 122, so I'm just using the stock 240 temp sensor in the block. I'm sure that the 240 sensor will fit in the temp sensor hole of a B18/B20 with no problem.

I'll try and pull the speedometer in the next day or two, and take some pictures of how it was set up.

Removed the cluster today, and took some pictures.
