After having had a vibration problem for a while on my 1990 760 gle, ive finally tracked it down to the gearbox mount.
However the mount itself is a bit puzzling.
The housing is round, with the rubber seeming to be bonded into it,it doesnt look like any new bush can be drifted in.
Question is the whole mount a one piece unit with the mount bonded to it..(looks expensive if it is), or can the rubber mount be pushed out and a new one inserted.

It's one piece; 2 bolts hold the ass'y to the crossmember, and no, it's not particularly expensive.
FCP has 'em for $13.

If manual tranny, I just did mine. Put a jack under the tranny, loosen the 2 nuts, then removed 3 bolts from crossmember and loosen the 4th. Rotate the crossmember, remove old mount, install is the reverse.
