Heater Core - Reliability

Planning to replace Heater Core in '89 760T.

Would like to know what the actual experience has been with the "Four Seasons" Heater Cores.

Has anyone installed one and if so how reliable has it been long term?

The aftermarket is far less costly than OEM, yet considering the labor involved to replace, I'm considering both vendors as possibilities.

Thanks for your input!

I put one in my '89 765t a couple of years ago and haven't had a problem with it.

And yeah, you want to make sure of what you are installing before you close the patient up, 'cause it's a bear to go back in.

Speaking of labor to replace, we have one in a '91 244 since November without issues. That gives us right close to 5% of the original's time before failure.

Aftermarket or genuine, pressure test it before you install it.

I haven't had any problems with aftermarkets either. It is the LABOR that is really intensive. Good luck with the operation.
