Have headrests, now what? 120-130

Hey all, silly question... I'm looking to put headrests in my 122 and got my hands on a pair of original (12" wide) ones. Problem is that they did not come with the original mounting tubes and my seats don't have them either. Any thoughts / pictures of acceptable substitutes?

Thanks,

-aric.

You can download an original brochure for the headrests from a link on this site:

Somewhere around the middle you'll find the link... It probably won't help a lot, but at least you can see a diagram of the parts.

Have you taken apart the seat backs and do they have the holes in the frame to hold the tubes? If they do you can probably fabricate something yourself, though you might have issues with the plastic bits that screw down to hold the headrests in their vertical position.

If I'd had my new digital camera when I put them in my Amazon last spring I would've documented it.... but I didn't.

Thanks Tom.

I actually already found that article through some google-ing, but a repost here isn't a bad thing since I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd find it useful.

My seats do have the tabs with the holes, but no tubes. I guess I'll just cobble something together as I doubt I'll be able to find original hardware. How did you mount yours? Is the easiest route just a matter of attaching a tube to the tab in some fashion and then blocking the end of the tube at the desired height? Ideally I'd like to have them be adjustable, but I'm not sure that's going to happen due to time constraints. Oh well.

Thanks!

Aric-
If I remember right, the tubes slid down through some tabs with holes in them on one of the seat cross-tubes at or near the top. The tubes had a sort of notch in them at the bottom ends that essentially wedged onto a thinner cross-tube at about the middle of the seat back. Something like this drawing.

Do you have the plastic bits, etc. for the tops of the tubes? I'm pretty sure that other than the bottom notches there wasn't anything special about the tubes- no threading or anything. Adjusting the height, etc. had to do with the various plastic bits...
