yet another steering wheel question 200

Thanks for bearing with my steering wheel questions. Someone mentioned that the Bertone steering wheel was junk. Why is this?

Also does anybody have a good steering wheel for sale? Either R-sport, Turbo, or GT will be considered. I like steering wheels with more of a sporty feel.

thanks folks!

The Bertone wheel should be the same as the GLT (Turbo) wheel. It is the same diameter as the later smaller wheels in 86(?) on cars.
Unless it is the monster all-leather bus size wheel, I've only seen a few of them and the Bertones seem to have them sometimes. In which case it is still huge but far from junk, very expensive in the day and beyond rare now.
The wheel used in the Bertones, GLT's and later cars are all identical, the difference is the little plastic nameplate in the padding on the horn pad. Turbos say Turbo, Bertones have the crown, and regular cars just say Volvo.

For what it's worth, the wheel in my '83 turbo feels the same (except for "turbo" badging and the aftermarket glove by the PO) as the one that was in my '88DL. This may just be a quirk though.

Same wheel, GT, turbo, post-85. all the same with hornpad change.
