injectors making noise 700

'87 760T volvo which seems to always have something break...so now im a regular at this forum

right now there is a noise coming from around the engine which i think is the injectors. its a high pitched whine thats loud at idle ad slowly quiets down as i go up rpms until i get to around 3000rpms when it stops (or maybe the engine just covers the noise). i just had the timing done (if that has any relation). from the smell of teh exhaust it is burning rich...

any help would be appreciated
