I just found out that the inner tie rod ends on my car are starting to wear. About 5 years ago, they were replaced when I replaced the rack. Since there is a lifetime warrantee on the rack, it will cost nothing to replace the entire rack including the inner tie rod ends. Go figure that it will be cheaper to replace the rack than just the tie rod ends. And just about the same amount of work.
