Increased engine noise in cabin 200 1990

I just got my '90 240 back from my son (he purchased a 2001 S60 with t5). When I start it up, I notice an increased level of noise in the cabin that seems to have the same "frequency" as the engine noise. My 740 did this and it turned out to be bad engine mounts that allowed the engine to contact the crossmember, so I checked the engine and transmission mounts on the 240 but they appear intact. Using a stethescope I tried to find a portion of the body that might be touching the engine/trans and transferring the noise to the cabin but was unsuccessful. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and how to eliminate it? Thanks.
