I am sorting through my insturment panel today to make it work again. New (to me car...) I'm used to working on first generation 240's, so I have a few questions.

I notice that my speedometer is not working. I had thought that the drive cable is not connected. When I pulled the panel out of the car, I noticed a plug that I'll be damned if I can remove plugged into the back of the speedometer, is this now electrically driven?

Also, the fuel gauge is dead. Other than that, the panel works (that leaves the idiot lights, and temp.gauge working...). Any thoughts?
