Electric Speedometer problem, wish info. 200 1990

A 90 245 with 247,xxx. Speedo and odometer just stopped at the same time. One to many good wacks on the dash will cause a return of devices or cause much bouncing of needle requiring more wacks.

Took cluster out and removed speedometer unit. Cleaned connector and connection board. Examined as much as possible for whatever with magnifying glass, seeing nothing out of the ordinary.

Anyone have similar problem and found the connection problem or know of TSB with answer?
