I finally completed my to do list: new oil pan, engine and tranny mounts, turbo lines, water pump, flame trap, driveline bearing and mount, IC hosing, radiator and hosing, repaired front end wiring, timing belt, adjustable cam gear, washer pump, and replaced just about every gasket o-ring and seal besides the head gasket. I finally got everything back together, and with an unhealthy amount of apprehension, turned the key. as expected, it didn't start. besides some weird starter wiring problems that I've taken care of, my only idea is that the timing belt isn't lined up correctly. I've got fuel and spark. Is there a way to tell if the timing belt might be causing me this trouble?
also- can anyone tell me the exact purpose of the hose laying across my valve cover going to the fire trap and turbo intake?(and if it were removed, would my car still run?)
thanks
