Carbs vs FI: is it worth it? 120-130 1967

Hi Guys,

I spent the afternoon reading a lot of 'threads' on your forum, and so far I haven't seen anyone talking about this: Anybody ever put an F-I B20 in a 122? I really hope it isn't toooo difficult. I have a mechanic who LOVES injected VW engines and he wants to put the freshly-rebuilt F-I B20 out of a 245 into my P220 (I'm just getting used to not calling it a 122 Wagon). I figure all the advantages of injection (plus the smile on his face) will make it worth it, but I REALLY should find-out what is involved. I think the orig. gas tank will work OK, doesn't have to be pressurised (that was my first objection), right? Then there is the linkage, shouldn't be a problem??? And we will need to run, what, 2 more fuel lines, install a pump somewheres, and....

I think he probably knows all this, but I know he hasn't actually DONE it, so that is why I am asking.

Thanks,

Still-not-too-late-to-carburate,

Jim
