960 injection interchange question 900

I'm moving along on changing a 92 engine out for a 97. Several parts in the injection system have different part numbers but I'm wondering if the differernces are simply physical or if they are electrical, too.

The 92 and 97 injectors are a different physical style but since I have the 97s on the engine already, does anyone know if they work with the older ECU, metering the same amount of fuel for the same width pulse? Not a problem to change over, I just like the later style of tip, which I think gives a better spray pattern.

The 97 also has a different idle speed controller. Is it just a different size or are the electrical properties also different?

Thanks,
C.Anderson.V
