high idle after AMM swap - causes? 200 1993

Hi All,
Swapped out a burned up AMM with two different good ones (so far) and am still getting high idle in drive (900+) and park (1300). The TPS and IAC pass all physical checks (clean, feeler gauge check on TPS clicking) as well as the OBD diagnostics for those components. I am getting no stored bad codes, all I get is the "good" codes when I run the checks. For each AMM I've given it 3 or 4 days of driving to account for the so called ECU learning mode (I'm not convinced this is fact or urban legend yet) but idle is still high. Intermittently, particularly when hot, it will idle normally for short periods. Does anyone any more ideas for me to check out? Perhaps the learning period is much longer?
