My '90 740 has the rear window with extremely skinny, laminated-in-the-glass defrost wires. I'd have thought these were impervious to damage except in the form of a baseball bat going through the window or the like. Sadly, no-- I've got a number of the individual conductors failed, w/more going south each year. For that matter, the '87 is doing the same thing.
Does anybody on BB know how these fail, considering they can't be touched without smashing the window? And, is there a fix short of replacing the glass?
