Prior threads from my fist postings in July on this problem are listed under this same subject heading. Won't bore you here with the story, but I'm still trying to figure this problem out!
I had the alternator rebuilt (original Bosch now has new diodes & terminals). Replaced fender-mounted votage regulator with a new one, and wiring-harness from alternator to regulator bench tested by the rebuilder as "OK".
I installed the parts and the car starts and runs fine, but now the dash lights (parking brake, brake failure, EGR, bulb failure, AMP) all stay on brightly when car is running. Only the oil pressure light goes off. What could be causing this? I can spin wrenches, but this electrical stuff puts me to the test. How can I tell if the battery is charging? Is this condition going to "fry" something? There are only 3 wires to connect on the back of the alternator: hot, ignition and ground. I won't drive it until I know for sure...thanks.
