Greetings All,
I'd wager that all of us vintage Volvo owners have occasionally been guilty of neglecting the fluid level in our ZS & SU carb dashpots because it is so damned difficult to inject a precise amount of ATF into the spindle without dribbling all over the exterior. But I believe that I've found the perfect tool for the job--in the cosmetics department! Does your Significant Other have hair that isn't exactly . . . nature's true shade??? Many hair-dye kits contain small plastic squeeze bottles with long, tapered spouts. These are IDEAL for filling dashpots, or for placing tiny amounts of fluid in any restricted area. Next time she's preparing to touch-up her roots, get to the bottle first ("Beats me, sweetheart--it just vanished").
Another tip for better Volvo living: while she's out visiting her
Battle-Axe Mama, wash your distributor cap, air-filter box, AND your computer keyboard (OH YES!) in the dishwasher top rack. What she doesn't know won't hurt her, and would only sprout more gray roots anyway.
