I had posted a message a couple of weeks ago with a running problem. Our '90 745Ti would idle great but when you stepped on the gas the engine would go to 1500 rpm and cut out with no power.
I was able to figure out the problem by doing the diag. on the amm, iac, tps and finally the ecu.
The info I was able to look up in the archives I was able to deduce that the ecu was defective.
Yesterday I found a '90 765Ti in the boneyard with the 563 ecu (w/out EGR.) I grabbed it because I knew from the Board that it would work instead of the 560 (with EGR.) I didn't realize the 560 was so problematic.
Tody I installed the new ecu and she started right up and ran great!
How will the engine, performance and emmissons be affected with the EGR being bypassed? Do I need to plug the EGR hoses? Should I look for a 900 series as a back up or only use the 563 temporally?
BTW: I got a tan 3rd seat with the belts, hardware, trim pieces and armrests for $15
