My '90 740 GL had a weird problem earlier today as I was heading to work. The car won't upshift after 40-45 mi/hr ..(it's an A/T) ...the rpm revs upto 3,500 already and it won't go no matter what i did.

So someone told me that the car is low on transmission fluid - so I've got that, and will fill it up in a few mins ...(I'm still at work) ...

But, just want to know - is there anything more serious happening?

A few days ago, my starter gave up on me and I've been struggling to justify the maintenance costs for this car ....

PLEASE HELP !!! I hope that putting in more trans fluid will fix the issue?
