So i was one step short of finishing the valve cover gasket replacement. I went to advance auto parts and bought an in-lb torque wrench, and started torquing the nuts to spec. A few turns later, it gave way, and i snapped the head stud. oh yeah. it figures. the problem was that the torque wrench was only good down to 10ft-lbs, not 8. And being at the bottom end of the effective range, it was also the lease accurate. . .
so what do i do now? i have to remove the broken stud (there's about a half inch sticking out of the head). How would you recommend doing this?
