Hello All,

I know I usually post on the 200 forum but this posting if for a friend of mine that owns a 1990 745GLT with 210K on the clock. Last October her 745GLT would die out in traffic after say 20-25 mintues of driving. After the car would die it would not restart, only crank. With the help of the 700/900 FAQ section I was able to diagnose and replace a faulty Power Stage and happy to report that her car does not stall out anymore.

Now another problem has come up that seems to be kicking my butt. The same car won't start sometimes when she starts it early in the morning (will not crank at all, all idiot lights on the instrument cluster turn on). This problem happens more after a short trip and a hot soak of the engine. If she drives for a while and comes back to the car within the hour the car will not crank at all and the lights on the instrument cluster do turn on when the ignition is first turned on.

The car has had a complete tune up, new Crank Position Sensor, used Power Stage, and vacuum lines fixed in the last year. She has complained that the car is also very sluggish compared to how it used to be before the power stage problem and the no crank / no start problem came up.

I have been reading the 700/900 FAQ Forum and think it maybe the Radio Suppression Relay that maybe faulty but would that cause the NO CRANK portion of her problem. If the Radio Suppression Relay supplies the power to the fuel injectors that would cause a crank but no start condition. I cant figure out what would cause her NO CRANK condition now and again. The last thing I was thinking of was a faulty ignition switch that maybe falling apart and thus the extra heat across the contacts maybe be causing her NO CRANK condition.
