As most of you know we are dealing with Hurricane Rita on the Texas coast, I live between Beaumont and Port Arthur, so we had to evacuate. As it happened I had to take my mother in law to Houston on Thursday Morning to catch a flight out. My intent was to drop her and return home then evacuate, put due to road closures I got stuck on IH45 going north out of Houston. Well the first 25 miles took 14 hours, next to 25 took 10 hrs then 2 hrs for last 20 before I could get off and go to my destination. So needless to say the car basicly idled for 24 to 26 hrs, the cooling system performed pefectly in 100F+ temperatures, and I had no problems with the car.
Not bad for a 10 year young car with 168,000 miles on it. If anyone is curiuos it takes about 3/4 tank of gas to idle that long, not my normal mileage.

My wife had to come a different route and we are all safe about 200 miles north of home.
