Clutch a la 1987 200

Been a while since i've bugged you guys for stuff... NICE SETUP! (why does it say my last visit was in 1970? was i hear in another life?) - during that time some neighborhood kids used my interior as the container of a lit mortar shell and destroyed the "near" showroom quality AND i've found out a woman who brags about knowledge of "The Stick" doesn't know didly. SO you can guess my plight... [ the pedal is hard to press and doesn't come all the way to the top and the shifter won't go in a gear, i've smelt the rank odor of clutch material ] i wanna do this myself really bad (the $ saved and experience gained) and i'm reading in the manuals and it says the clutch on the M47 is pretty a pop/cut/glue type thing (other than the alignment procedure) how true is that? When I compare the literature describing the other tranny's I imagine you guys without the M47 have your hands full on a teardown. hands down - this is a trouble-free car and i love it to death... in fact, i've curbed it for over 3 months due to the clutch and last night it fired up before i could even release the key! Yeah Swedes! Well there ya have it... I promise you all i will not allow another member of the opposite sex place her butt (no matter its appearance!) in my driver seat until i see her drive her own!
