New owner of a 93 960- Drive the car windows don't work, turn off engine they work???? 900

To the real mechanics out there.
I have purchased a wagon that has been parked for a while but I was told the engine was solid. It just needed som TLC on the inside and some wax.

This is it:
the battery was dead when I drove it home , I had to jump to get it home.

1. While I drove it I could'nt lower the windows or sun roof. They only worked when the engine was off.
I am guessing since it has a electric drive fan it turns off items off until the battery is good. Am I close?

2. The radio works or did work on one side only. then while I had the car off and the radio on the back side stopped working. Now only the driver side works.
I am asumming the batter again?

3. The shifter has three buttons under the shifter with letters. I have found out they are for different driving. But now they all flash irregularly and the manual says to contact a dealer. So, I am guessing either the transmission is going out or once again the battery?

That is about it. But most of all thanks to Spook. Spook has helped me with the fuses. THANK YOU!!

By the way, I do know about the old syle of machanics. back in the 70's and 80's
I just started doing this to maybe give the car to my church. I just want to make sure it is a stable car for some one in need. I got it cheap thought it would be a good little something to do. I know Volvo would be good for a starting family in need.
If you can help?

Thanks from Fort Worth
