hello.
I have a 740 GL 1990.
About twice a week (even more often during the summer) it just won't start.
The lights all come on, air will come on but nothing will happen. It is only when it has been running for a while and I turn off the car. It is only during the hotter months.
I have had a several mechanics (volvo certified as well) check it out and they cannot find the problem. It seems that it is only when it the engine is hot (but not overheated) and it starts up after it has sat for about an hour or so.
It has a new fuel pump, a new fuel pump relay and a very new engine that was replaced before I purchased it about 3 years ago. This problem has been going on all 3 years during the summer months.
I thought it might be some kind of kill switch that won't allow the car to start if it "feels" like it is too hot. Someone said something about a neutral start relay?
I need help before I drive my beloved volvo into a tree or off a bridge somewhere.
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
Michelle
