Are the brake lines common between various 240 models?
Bit of musing here while I'm unemployed with a Volvo that won't move.
On my "when I have a job again" shopping list is replacing the front rotors and calipers with the best stopping power I can afford, and I was wondering whether the various brakes fitted to non-ABS 240s were easily interchangable. Could I for instance switch to ATEs on a car that originally came with Girlings without having to change too much plumbing?
Of all the different brakes you can bolt up to a 240, factory or aftermarket, what's going to pull the car up the best once it's fitted with uprated tires and suspension? I've seen photos of Porsche calipers and rotors bolted up, would that work with the original brake system?
Once I'm working again I'm budgeting to be able to throw enough money at the car to buy two perfectly good 240s, do I have a problem?
