Hello All,
About two months ago, I purchased a 93 245 which I've been repairing, replacing and refurbishing ever since. It's finally in decent shape and I'm planning to ship it to my daughter, a senior in College in California, on Wednesday, October 12. She desperately needs a car for work and I figured this would be a good way for me to ensure she has a trustworthy car. Initially, I told her I would maintain the current registration from NY, but ultimately, she would have to reregister in California. I don't think she intends on coming back to NY (except to visit) after she completes school.
Since the car was never built to meet California emissions controls am I setting her up for problems during registration or inspection? I'm unfamiliar with Ca registration and inspection requirements.
Could some of the knowlegeable BB'ers shed some light on whether I should back out of this before Wednesday and just keep the car here in NY.
Thanks much,
Marty Wolfson
