Removal of Headlight Cover 700 1989

I've searched the site, read the FAQ and worked for over an hour to get the headlight cover off my '89 760 GLE in order to change the halogen bulb. I've removed all three clips and have run a knife blade around the seal where ever I can reach. I'm stuck.

As always, I'm ever so grateful for the generous help graciously offered.
