ECU 561 - cut violet wire, jumped brown wires - reverse workaround? 200 1989

Previous Mechanic on my '89 245 apparently modified the wiring to ECU to make the car run.

As I now have a known good 561 ECU that can be installed I'm considering reversing the modification to the wiring if I can learn exactly what was done.

Fuel Pump relay is white; this isn't the "green relay" modification mentioned in the FAQ.

Hopefully someone here knows this "cure" and will point me to any additional changes that need to be reversed to restore this.

Violet (purple?) wire to ECU is cut.

Brown wire and brown/black stripe wire are jumped together, there's also a thin black wire jumped to that pair. This was done with a 3-pin (looks like) black connector; I didn't separate it yet to verify exactly that all wires were jumped. I assume the three are jumped at the connector. Looks like they go to the ECU, not out to elsewhere.

There's a thin blue wire coming out of the ECU wire harness close to the ECU, don't know where it goes yet.

The wire harness to the ECU is spiral-wrapped in electrical tape; I suspect the 3 wires to the jumper connector have their other ends wrapped up in there.

Anyone recognize this? Can I safely restore the 3 jumped wires and the cut purple or violet one to their original status? Is there other stuff I need to do to make this work??

TIA
