Could the differential pinion seal be temporarily patch or sealed with some extra strength epoxy or gas patch sealer? PLEASE HELP!!!

I now believe that my gear oil is leaking from the pinion seal? Can I put a temp sealer and or heavyduty epoxy just until I can make the repairs? Although it is a closed system, is there any pressure within the differential? I Permatex makes a tootsie roll like sealer/patch that I COULD POSSIBLY place within this area. Again what are my possiblities for a quick temp seal? I would like to repair it by the weekend. Right now the rear axle is at the whining stage, however I just keep it full until I can get this darn thing fixed! How hard is it to make this repair? I am very mechanically inclined. but a litttle worried as to whether or not if I did any long term damage to the differential as a result of the whining noises. Dana diffs are suspose to be very stout, how much time do I have have left before this thing seizes up? Please help!!!

1988 740 GLE AW-70 A.T. 8 Valve non-turbo s.w. WITH 431,500 original miles no rebuilds or replacements. In very good condition, with exception to this diff issue!

Best Regards!
