Trying to visualize flame trap connections 200 1993

Car is 1993 240, new to me.
When I was trying to clean the flame trap,
I noticed that the little nipple piece was broken off,
and there is a hole on plastic cup.
The flame trap kit shows the nipple, and includes a
short hose. Where does it go ? Obviously one part
to the nipple, but what about the other ?
