Heater core 700 1991

Looks like the heater core has sprung a leak this week.(740 na w/ac) Windows fog up and the smell of coolant is in the air. At least it's still warm here. I've got the core by-passed until I can replace it. Does anyone have any input regarding heater core manufacturers? I understand that replacement is a PITA, so I want to do it only once. 4-Seasons is the predominant brand that I've seen. Others available? Who is OEM? Any info as to the reliability of these units will be greatly appreciated.
