My dear wife recently complained that the interior lights did not work on
the Yellow Peril. So today I looked at the front one first, and found, as I
expected, that the rubber covers on the switches were preventing them from
turning on. (Also the switch handle was broken off, but I managed to make a
new one.) I took off the rubber covers on the switch buttons on the front doors
and the light works fine with either door open and goes off when the doors are
closed, just like they are supposed to.
Then I looked in the back, just inside the tailgate, and found a similar
arrangement except the wire that was green in front was red in back. I assume
that it likewise goes to a grounding switch somewhere. I made a new handle
for the switch on the rear interior light also, and it seems to work fairly
well. But where is the door switch? I looked all over and didn't find one
anywhere!
So if anyone can tell me where the door switch is for the tailgate, I'd be most
grateful!
