760 running problem 700

My '84 760 Turbo recently starting cutting out at highway speeds. The engine never stops, but rather stubles a bit and then is fine. There's also an occaisional backfire back through the intake. Fuel mileage is about 28-29 MPG on the highway. The fuel filter is new, and the intank prepump is working. The main fuel pump isn't that noisy.

Any thoughts?
