hissing after turning engine off 200 1989

Something I've never noticed on my other bricks:

When I turn the engine on and off I hear a hissing sound, hissing also when accelerator pedel pushed down. Sounds like a cannister releasing pressure. I don't seem to have any performance problems but then again, I've always heard this hissing since I had the car for the past month. Any ideas what this might be?
