89 245 no spark 200 1989

I have an 89 245 that has been giving me fits for many months now, off and on, and I'm having trouble pinpointing my latest bit of fun.
I bought the car from a neighbor about three years ago when living in "the city" - fine for a year or so, wife used it lightly - she had a stall & no start one day, had it towed to a nearby used Volvo dealer/mechanic, he put in new Bosch power stage, ok for a few months - she's driving to our place "up north" a few months later - (very hot/humid day) - car begins to run rough, stalls, she gets it going - haltingly -exits x-way to gas station, calls her dad, he says sounds like "bad gas", she adds gas drier, and after cooling down and a short period of running rough , smooths out and she continues her trip w/ no problem. Later, when back in the city, I have it checked by the guy who had replaced power stage, he replaces FI relay - fine for now - fast forward six months, we move "up north" (in "the sticks" now) - Jan '05 begin to experience comlete loss of power when driving, as if someone had turned off the key -though it would usually restart after a few minutes - this continued on and off for a few weeks, and, not being particularly "bricK' savvy yet, took it to a foriegn car mechanic with a good rep and excellent diagnostics some 25 miles away - he could not get it to fail for a week or so, but finally failed for him, but he could not condem any specific part - cleaned many corroded contacts and grounds, no further fail - ransomed the car back to be, and soon back to power loss - checkbook beginning to whine, so I decide I need to learn what I can about this beast - discover this board (many thanks to all), and after reading a lot, checking etc, replacing coil w/ correct Bosch unit discover that RPM sensor is wired in place on bell housing! Apparently perevious owner's mechanic had replaced sensor w/ white band model, but had broken the mount, so wired it in place somehow to avoid dropping tranny - (worked all this time?!) So, surmising that maybe this is the problem, it must be moving slightly, take it back to mechanic, he says sounds likely, drops tran, remounts correctly, (doesn't change sensor itself, says it tested fine) - Bingo, or so I thought for a couple months of trouble free operation, Then, this summer, back to sudden power loss, intermittent no-start. ARGH! - Armed w/ my FAQ board, run codes, get 133 from the 2, 144 from the six - TPS didn't seem indicated , replace FI relay w/ known good spare, clear codes, run again, 121 & 131 from the 2, nothing from six, clear to double check, get same 2 from 2 slot, 144 from six - (I can get the car to run - perfectly - for a few minutes at a time at this point) Run test mode two, all sensors check - run test mode three, hear the various systems, (though I'm not certain what all sound like) - clear codes and move car to other side of driveway til next day - no start next day, and we're at present dilemma - no spark from coil (well, one weak white spark when first cranked, then no spark at all, nor subsequently) I'm looking at condemming the RPM sensor, as it wasn't replaced when reseated, but mode two told me it was ok previously, sooo.. Thoughts, anyone? - I realize this is a long post, but being a relative brick and board "newbie", I thought a history might be helpful. Thanks again to all; without this board I'd have never made it this far.
