ipd Nivomat Conversion? 900

My 944 SE needs shocks. I have been happy with the Nivomats, but not thrilled with the cost of replacement. Has anyone tried the kit ipd sells as a conversion from Nivomat to a more standard shock and spring? The ipd catalog says the conversion kit improves both comfort and drivability. Does it? Or should I just take a deep breath and order replacement Nivomats?
