RIP my 740 Turbo (accident pictures inside) 700 1989

I had a great day.. Went to the junkyard, got the correct oil line for my new turbo, and some other volvo goodies that I needed, and to top it off I found a fuel pump and relay for my V8 Quattro.. Life can't get any better.

Driving home, I crest the top of a hill and find another car stopped in the roadway, slam on the brakes, and attempt to swerve off of the road. I clipped the other car with the left front of my '89 740 turbo. The damage looked pretty serious, the entire battery box is pushed in and dented, the top cross member is bent out of shape, pushing the intercooler and radiator forward some. The airbag deployed, and I think that I bent the steering wheel. Thank god I was not in the Porsche or the Audi, or I think the damage, both to myself and the car would have been a lot worse.

I am going to call the insurance company, but my guess is my red wagon may be toast :-(

I am perfectly fine, other than a bruised ego, and some serious scars and bruises on my left arm. When I swerved, my arm crossed the airbag, and it deployed with my arm across it.

I am attaching a picture.. The rest can be seen here: http://devansky.com/images/ovaccident

Drive safe anyone! I would like to know about any nice 740 Turbos, or perhaps a V90 on the east coast for sale?

~Eric
