A few days ago I posted about how my overdrive wasn't engaging properly. I got some excellent help at first and have one more question with some info I have gathered. I pulled the od relay and opened it up( a whole story in itself) and the solder appeared to be fine, I couldn't see any visible flaws.
Is this inspection enough?
Then with the cover off, the relay installed, driving along at speed the car stayed out of od for about 10-15 minutes. Now, with help from a navigator, I watched the relay and the shifter button was actuating the relay (I could see it switching) and the up arrow while we stayed in third gear. Once the magic moment came that the od felt it appropriate to operate, it works just fine.
Does that point more to the solenoid under the car or should I still investigate the relay?
I'd much rather it were the relay, of course.
Thanks,
-Brent
