Hi there,
Can anyone help?
I have a '66 P1800 S with a nice 'n' tight, rebuilt B18 with a few goodies onboard - high lift cam, lightened flywheel, balanced crank, rods, ported head, etc. Unhappy with the amount of torque available, I bought a new set of B20 +0.762 pistons for next to nothing off eBay. Now, I was quite happily going to pull the B18 and rebore to B20 spec. 'BUT' I just acquired an early (6 bolt flywheel) B20 carbed motor (I think its from a late P1800S).
My question is this:
Should I stick with the original B18 plan or should I go for the early B20 rebuild and try to fit the 2130 cc B21 pistons. I realise that this will mean a fair bit of faffing about, but If the power increase is significant enough over the B20 spec B18, I'd be happy to give it a go...
Any comments or advice would be welcome.
Thanks,
Gordon
