My 1988 240 which I drive every day with 450,000 miles on it yesterday did something new. My husband started it in the garage and there was a high engine squeal which sounds like a loud vacuum leak. Car started very rough and he backed out of the garage. Put on the beake and it dies instantly. Also wont idle.
My fist thought was vacuum leak/brake booster problem. But I don't know how to check for that. There are no obvious hoses off or anything visible.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Help would be much appreciated.
