A friend of mine recently inherited a '90 240 wagon with 156k miles. Her late father complained for a long time about the brakes squeaking. I drove it and they do squeak but only at speeds below around 15 mph. My '84 DL wagon has never squeaked in 80k miles. Is there something about later brakes that make them squeal? I don't have access to any records so I don't know when the last bnake job was done or what quality parts went into it.
