alright guys, i think i've figured out at least part of the mystery behind the failed AMM. i know that VW and other euro cars use the hotwire amm as well and almost never have failures with them like good ole volvo does and i think the reason is because of the hot air tube coming off of the exhaust manifold that swings over to the air intake box. well that little climate door that opens for the car's warm up time fails out just because they get old and tired and a lot of times gets stuck so that its always drawing in the hot air off the exhaust manifold so this would probably speed up the failure of the AMM right? does that make any sense?? i've owned 3 245's in the past and present and those hoses have fallen apart from age or whatever so there is no hot air passing through to the box.... i've never ever ever had a problem with an AMM going bad....but i have noticed it on the cars of a couple guys i know that have the tubes still attached. anyways lets hear your input!
