buying a 740 700

i am looking to buy a used volvo 740. the requirents for it are: <~3250, rear wheel drive, manual transmission, turbo. this narrows it to 1989-1991 model year 740's, i think. what i am finding is that these ingredients are hard to find, for sale at least. so what id like to know is how much of a difference the turbo makes in regards to speed and acceleration. i read that the stock, non-turbo makes about 160hp which seems reasonable. any ideas for a car, volvo or not, that would be alike to a 740?
