BW35 and ramblings - 164E 140-160 1975

Got my injector rings from Eric at IPD today, so I installed them and cranked it up. Ran fine at about 8-900rpms then finally setled in at 1000. Sounds great. But:
The Grand Dame (164) parks behind my Jeep in the elongated third stall of my garage. The V70R gets the honor of parking outside behind the Grand Dame. Soo, after it warmed up, I put it into reverse and the engine died. The key lockout doesn't work, so I hit the starter with my foot on the brake and a little gas. Stays started, but starts backing out of the garage! Shift to drive, the wheels leave black marks on the painted garage floor and I am headed toward the Jeep. Nuts. Park! And all is well. Guess I need to address the tranny problem.
The BW35 is great, smooth in both up and down shifts. In drive, the rpm falls to about 500rpm(the first little tick mark on the speedo). In reverse, the entire engine rotates counter clockwise as viewed from the steering wheel and then shuts down. (Note: it also stalls in right hand turns - sometimes). I checked the tranny fluid level and when hot it is at the top of the cold reading on the dip stick, which I guess is about 1/2 quart low. There may not be enough slip? Or the torque converter needs to be replaced, which on my budget means the car gets parked under a tarp until my daughter is no longer a dependent - insurance costs on her 850.
If I left two(2) black marks on the floor, does that mean I have limited slip or just a slippery floor? LOL What a fun car. The heater works and the heated seats feel great. It starts on command. And the brakes work much better than they used to.
