I have a 1993 240 wagon in generally very good condition, but with one persistent problem. Over the summer, the car would occasionally stall out and then not want to start again for a few minutes... it would start again eventually, but not right away. Now that the weather has cooled some, the stalling happens infrequently, but once in a while, the car will not start. It cranks and cranks, but no start. If I wait a while, the car will start - sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes an hour.
I am not smelling a lot of fuel when I crank it, as I would expect. If this was an ordinary car (as opposed to a Volvo) I would suspect the fuel pump needed to be replaced. Because this is a Volvo, however, I am guessing there are 4 relays, two fuses, and 16 wires that need to be checked first...
Anybody have any ideas or references to start troubleshooting this thing?
Thanks!
Tom
